TAURUS G3 9mm

TAURUS G3 9mm

By: Firearmsnews.net

If you are in the market for a great 9mm pistol for a low cost, you will find the Taurus line of 9mms hard to beat. I own several Taurus firearms not because they are cheap, but because they are great guns at a good price.

My Taurus G3 was purchased to use for gun range duty only and has been modified for my personal needs. Since it came with 15 round and 17 round magazines I already had a good start.

Here is a list of modifications I added.

  1. Stainless Steel Recoil Assembly Guide Rod
  2. Stainless Steel Striker Guide
  3. Mounting Plate for Optics
  4. Burris FastFire 3 Red Dot Optic
  5. 2 Mec-Gar 20 Round Magazines with sleeves
  6. Rail Mounted Tactical Light

I have several friends who own Taurus G3, G2C, and other 9mm Taurus firearms. We all have one thing in common, and that is the enjoyment of shooting accurate low-cost guns without the fear of wearing out an expensive firearm.

Men and Women are finding it necessary to learn firearm safety and proficiency due to current state of our country, and to get concealed carry licenses.

My wife, daughter and their friends are also learning the fun and excitement of spending a day at the gun range. My wife prefers a 9mm Taurus PT-111 Millennium G2 for her range gun.

My nightstand gun is a Taurus G2C with a Streamlight TLR-6 Flashlight and Red Laser.

I am not A Taurus Fanboy, as I enjoy using and collecting firearms of every brand. I do not mind putting a lot of rounds through my Taurus guns since they are reliable and low cost. I also find it cheaper to shoot 9mm as compared to other rounds, and my 9mms are all Taurus brand firearms.

In Conclusion: If you are new to pistols, a collector, an occasional shooter, or any firearms enthusiast you cannot go wrong with the Taurus G3 9mm as a gun that will serve your needs at a low cost.

Great Low-Cost Guns for New Shooters

Great Low-Cost Guns for New Shooters

Written by: WJ Diggins

Due to the recent run on guns and ammunition, there has been a lot of confusion surrounding the best gun for new shooters. There are a lot of great guns available at varying cost, however some people do not have the option of spending $500 for a gun when they are on a tight budget.

One of my favorite low-cost gun manufacturers is Taurus. If you want a great gun that will not cost you a fortune for your first purchase, you may want to see some of the many options by Taurus. If you want a gun that is a great value and not cheaply made Taurus has many options and has a Lifetime Warranty on their firearms.

Taurus G2C
Taurus G2C

You may want to consider the Taurus G2C in 9mm at a cost of around $250. The G2C is a compact 10 or 12 round semi-auto pistol that comes with 2 magazines and has many great reviews.

Taurus 856

I also think that the Taurus 856 revolver in 38spcl is a great gun for the new shooter. At a cost of around $380. The Taurus 856 is a 6 shot revolver that is capable of handling +P 38 special rounds. This is an extremely easy gun to learn how to use for new shooters.

Mossberg Maverick

If you are more inclined to purchase a shotgun for home defense, you may want to consider a Mossberg 500, or the less expensive Mossberg Maverick. These are 12-gauge shotguns and can be used for hunting, home defense, or sporting clays. Since there are so many different models of these shotguns, its best to do your research to see which best suits your price requirements and needs.

Some people may prefer a rifle for their first gun, and if that is the case for you, there are many to choose from and a lot to consider. I think an AR15 or AK47 is a good rifle choice, however many people do not like the reputation associated with them. There are many other choices like, lever action, bolt action, pump action, and other semi-auto rifles available. Since there are so many rifles to choose from, you may want to do your research to see what suits your budget and needs.

COVID-19 AND NEW GUN OWNERS

COVID-19 And New Gun Owners

Written By: W J Diggins

Due to the uncertainty and confusion of Americans today because of COVID-19, many people who have never purchased a firearm before are lining up at Gun Stores to purchase firearms and ammunition.

There are already First Responders who have tested positive for the virus, and many more that have yet to be tested, this could mean a delay in response time to calls for assistance. You will have to protect your family and homes from threats!

Before or after you buy your firearm, there are five rules that you must know.

  1. Treat Every Gun as Loaded
  2. Keep Your Gun Pointed in a Safe Direction
  3. Never Point Your Gun at Anything You Don’t Intend to Shoot
  4. Always Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until You’re Ready to Shoot
  5. Be Sure of Your Target and What’s Beyond It

In addition to these five rules, there is  more important advice that I must give you.

Get Firearm Training ASAP!

If you are unable to get training right away, watch YouTube Videos on Gun Safety!

Keep you guns in a safe place, and locked!

Keep guns away from children!

Join an organization that supports our 2ND Amendment Rights!

We must all do our part in stopping the spread of COVID-19 by making sure that we understand what we can do to avoid contamination and spreading the virus.

We must also make sure that we are prepared to protect our family and homes against threats, should the need arise!

COVID-19 Causes Firearms and Ammunition Shortage

COVID-19 Causes Firearms and Ammunition Shortage

Written by: mcandy43

With the current COVID-19 pandemic actively ongoing, stores around the world are struggling to keep with high demands. Food, toilet paper, and other products are in high demand. However, one area that’s going largely unnoticed is firearms.

Over the past week, gun stores around the country have experienced long lines and a significant depletion of their stores. Customers concerned with the future are turning to their Second Amendment rights to keep up with self protection.

Not only did stores see this change, background checks through the FBI system saw a 34% increase in February. Even at the start of the crisis, people wanted to be prepared. Almost three million were performed in February alone. Back in January, news of the virus in Wuhan, China began spreading around the world. Even during that month, checks saw a 25% increase according to the most recent data.

Growing Concerns of Selling Out

Although the growing appeal may bring some people to appreciate self-protection, it’s also been a cause for concern. The concern primarily focuses on whether the supply is adequate to meet the growing demand. After all, COVID-19 shows no signs of stopping and the percentage of people buying firearms and ammunition is anticipated to increase as well. Firearm retailers as well as manufacturers admit to not being prepared to meet this surge in buying. Both short and long-term increased demand will put a strain on the industry.

What does this look like for the average gun owner? Anticipate the same experience you’ve had when shopping for food and common toiletries. It’s likely that guns and ammunition will be mostly absent from dealer shelves in the coming weeks. If the manufacturers of these products have to keep their workers at home, there will be an even greater impact. The end result will be that the prices of both items will rise significantly. There is not currently a monitoring or recording system set up to watch prices and scarcity.

News outlets who took note of this phenomenon interviewed multiple gun store owners and sellers across the nation. Sellers consistently noted that they had experienced a 30-400% spice in firearm sales when compared to their normal sales this time of year. In addition to increased sales of these items, there has also been more requests for body armor in some areas.

First-Time Gun Buyers

Events such as a pandemic often cause people to consider home and personal safety in a new light. For this past month, more people are becoming gun owners for the first time. With the shortages and panic, people anticipate that crime is also going to be on the rise. After all, when food and basic supplies start to run out, the average person doesn’t want to be a victim of a break-in and not be prepared for self-defense.

Additionally, there is also a concern that in the coming months, there will be fewer officials prepared to deal with any crime sprees. In New York, NYPD officers have been diagnosed with the illness and more are likely to come. Unlike other employees, public employee such as the police and fire department have to be present in the community and cannot self-quarantine to perform their jobs effectively. The trickle-down effect has led many to consider whether these officers will be able to handle any waves of crime that may occur.

Firearm Store Responses

This increased sales has led many sellers to change the way that they do business. For example, some stores have simply closed up shop. Once they’ve run out of inventory and have delays getting in new shipments, there’s really no point in staying in business. This has led many stores to simply close their doors until they can offer inventory once again.

Stores that do still carry some supply of firearms and ammunition have tried to limit and ration what they have. Fore example, a typically quiet gun store was bogged down and experienced unprecedented lines of customers that snaked around the block. Although they were still open for business, the store was also concerned about this large group of people spreading COVID-19. This store and many of them limit how many people can be in the building at any one time. While prudent, it’s caused hours of waiting time for many gun owners and buyers today.

What’s Being Sold?

Although people are often left scrambling to purchase what’s left, the most popular firearm to purchase today is a self-defense handgun. The modern manufacturing today allows companies that produce guns to reduce its proportions. Instead of a bulky weapon, the average handgun can be a compact structure while still allowing for magazine capacity. The average customer who can afford the price has been purchasing compact and full-size handguns that come with a red dot sight. This type of gun is deal for people who may be nearsighted or have impaired vision.

The more knowledgeable gun owners who already carry firearms are turning to more sophisticated choices. This type of buyer is more focused on purchasing rifles although this is a relatively small group. The highest overall requests appear to be for ammunition. Obviously, this is an essential part of using a gun effectively. With a concern for running out of ammunition or no longer being able to purchase it, people are not taking any chances. They’re stocking up, and even going to multiple stores in order to get more at each site.

The Future for Firearms and Ammunition Supply and Ownership

No one knows what the next few months holds but gun owners are gearing up to be prepared. Officials have cautioned Americans against panic buying weapons. Although it may be prudent to have a self-defense strategy ready, avoiding panic is the key to making smart choices when it comes to gun ownership and purchasing. However, for the average person who is interested in home defense, now is the time to act. Decreased manufacturing will lead to a shortage in gun and ammunition supply. Smart owners will be prepared if there are any future problems.

Smith & Wesson Model 29 Machine Engraved

One of the most collectible firearms that I’ve seen in recent years. The Smith & Wesson Model 29 Factory Machine Engraved 44 Magnum is a true enthusiasts gun. It comes in a blue finish, 4″ barrel, 6 shot capacity, engraved wood handles, mahogany presentation case, and blue S & W case.

I’m not sure how many of these revolvers will be produced, but I would recommend you consider adding one to your collection as soon as possible. A gun like this will be a great investment, or a great gun to occasionally take to the range.
